Update Quicky

Pretty sure no one comes here. That's okay. This is all really for me to gauge and evacuate my growth, remind myself of my artistic goals and objectives, and get me acclimated to constantly updating marketing my marketing tools.

In regards to learning everything necessary regarding figure drawing I've been constantly learning, but also dragging my feet. All in all I will still make the objective deadline of December 1st. In December I will refresh myself in perspective then start on the first of three sequential sets for Wonder Con 2013 (which I'm super glad is in So Cal again).

If you know of any good scripts for sequential pages drop a line in the comments (seriously).

Haven't posted in a while.

I started working again two weeks ago and I have two part time jobs. The first was normally short, better paying and more fore-filling,  and the second was longer, late in the day, requires more work (and often personal time),  returns little to no thanks and appreciation, and can be emotionally and spiritually draining. It's normally the condition I'm in from the second job that keeps me from consistently drawing, so I'm happy to say the first one offered me full time. So after my last couple weeks at the second job i will be posting and practicing on a daily bases.

Till then I apologizes to myself for not being able to hold myself to my own word, and to those silly fools who my actually enjoy any of my art.

Growth & Green Lantern

These are some Green Lantern Pages I wanted to finish for Comic-Con '12 portfolio, but couldn't get 'em done in time. I posted these pages in spite of them not being complete, because if I don't (knowing myself) I won't move on from their mistakes. You can see all the unfinished hands and what not.

That in mind coupled with watching and talking to comic sequentialist about their craft I realized that I wasn't near as good as I though I was (a fantasy I hope all artist have so I do look as bad). At Comic-Con '12 I learned that I'm not fast enough and that my figures have a hollowness to them.

One of my goals (that I normally keep to myself) is to draw anatomy of the figure on the level of or better than Jim Lee one day. I'd been trying all this time buy merely trying to draw muscle on figures. When I should've simply listened to the man himself. At one of the Wizard World LA cons (remember those?) I asked him at a signing what books for artist he recommends and he said Bridgman's Life Drawing. I bought it immediately, but I pasted it off as a complicated art book not made for comic artist instead of as an art tool that will contribute to my growth as an artist all around. I'd been trying to work from M to Z, instead of A to Z. I need to learn to draw and understand the relationship of the masses of the body in terms of rhythm, balance, lighting, etc. so that I don't draw stiff 2D figures anymore. Instead of trying any sequential stuff the next few months will be committed to putting these goals to practice.

Quick Update

Haven't been updating like I should be, nor have  I been sketching everyday like I should have. Anyway in an effort to make myself faster and post everyday I will be drawing a hundred of something everyday and posting it. Here are a couple topics: hands, arms, feet, eyes, ears, legs, gesters, women, Heads (emotions, angles), hair, noses, clothes, metal sheen. After one topic is completed i will post and draw it (at least) one a day while taking on the other topics.

Also, sequential pages to come soon.
