Feedback Rundown: Comic-Con International 2011

Following is a list of artist and their critiques of my latest samples(below) that I took to Comic-Con '11. By the way, if you haven't checked out their work then you are sleepin' on some good art.
  • Joel Gomez: Really liked my backgrounds, but also thought I need to work on character layout.
  • J. J. Kirby: Liked the improvements from my last work, but said still have some work to do on anatomy. His main concern was how broken my lines are. Also noted that I should always fill in my blacks when presenting even if I use X's to indicate blacks so that i present the full effect to editors.
  • Todd Nauck: Really liked the second page and my backgrounds and said to just keep working at it.
  • Peter Nguyen: Could really tell the difference from my last work. He liked the pacing especially with the second page and noted how small differences in panel layout and angels can add just enough pop and flow.
  • Dustin Nguyen: said I was "near professional level", and to keep working on anatomy.
  • Ryan Ottley: Said I need to study panel layout.
  • Ed Benes: -Doesn't speak English, so this is all through a translator- liked my art to the point of wanting to help me with it (to what end I will let you know).
  • Terry Dodson: Noted how to use backgrounds and angles to enhance the story. Also pointed out that I show take life-drawing classes, which would greatly improve my art.
  • Adam Hughes: Said to draw all the time, and focus on life drawing and anatomy.
  • Humberto Ramos: Work on perspective and anatomy. He agreed with Kirby on filling in the blacks.

In a Flash

These are the samples I did for this past Comic-Con International. I'm a fan of Wally West as Flash because of the Justice League cartoons, so I thought I give him a go in his newest costume.
There was a fourth page (where he kicks the shit outta Zoom II), but it got lost on the trains of San Diego while I was headed to Comic-Con. I'll tell you how the feedback went next.
